Hello,

2 years ago the Jeep dealership replaced my battery in my '01 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The uncovered terminal on the old battery had a LOT of corrosion on it and was causing electrical issues. The dealership said I also needed a new battery when I took it in, so I went ahead and replaced it.

NOW the new battery terminal is doing the same thing. When I pull into my garage I notice a very slight burning smell, and there is a good amount of corrosion on the uncovered battery terminal. Is there anything I can do to keep the corrosion off the battery?

Your battery will always have corrosion. I clean my vehicle's battery terminal sometimes up to four times a year. I use water and bakingsoda to wash the terminals, cables, and battery several times a year to help prevent corrosion. Also use a battery post cleaner

You can also use felt washers that go between the battery terminal and battery

Also, you may use connector grease to put over your terminals. All of this helps prevent corrosion, but it wont stop it.
