SITTING IN TRAFFIC, OR ESPECIALLY WITH THE AIR ON, IT OVERHEATS FAIRLY QUICKLY. THE FAN IS WORKING AND PLENTY OF FLUID. I CAN BUY SOME TIME BUY TURNING THE HEATER ON HIGH. IS THIS A THERMOSTAT ISSUE OR SOMETHING ELSE? ALSO MY ENGINE KNOCKS LIKE CRAZY EVEN THOUGH IT RUNS GOOD. IS THIS JUST FROM HIGH MILAGE AND WEAR? ANYTHING TO DO FOR THAT?

First, is the engine the 2.5L 4 cylender? Next, if so, you have done well with miles and I would say the knocking is from the rods or main bearings.

Now for the overheating, does the engine overheat when you are driving at highway speeds or only when in stop and go traffic?

Let me know. Also, you can try different high mileage additives for the noise, but I can't say if it will help.

Let me know about the temp issue.
