Engine Cooling problem
1999 Jeep Cherokee V8

When I slow down or stop the heat light indicator goes up to 200. Once I start again the temperature
lght goes down.

Please tell me why?

When your moving the engine is at a higher rpm so the water pump is circulating more and the fan is turning faster. If its having a issue when stopping it could be that the fans wearing out, the other fan isnt coming on or that the fan shroud may be cracked.
