1999 Jeep Cherokee Hood wont stay down

On my 1999 jeep cherokee sport the hood won't stay down. This happened after I had jumped a car and tried to shut my hood. It wasn't catching and only when I put my hands on both front corners of the hood did it shut. But this morning I hit a bump in the road and it came loose again. It didn't fly up but it seemed like it just doesn't want to stay down.

Any help is appreciated!

I had the same thing happen on our 95 jeep. Two things to check, make sure the hood latch didn't get pushed down or come loose, and each side of the hood should be adjustment nuts that can be turned up or down for hood tension.
