I have a 1998 Grand Cherokee limited 5.2L.
I cant find out why I have a light knocking sound in the engine, and white smoke coming from the exhaust for 4 minutes after I start it up. I took the radiator cap off then started it, and fluid didn't shoot out, so I'm assuming its not a head. Plus the all fluids are fine, and they are the correct colors. I want to know if I use a head gasket sealer and that's not the problem, would it make it worse? Thanks.

Hi there,

Head gasket sealers can cause other problems like blocking coolant passages and radiator cores, go get a head check done, this is a chemical test to detect exhaust gasses in the cooling system, this is a very accurate way of checking for a gasket problem, start here.
