1995 Jeep Cherokee smog check failure

14,000 MILES • 6 CYL • 4WD • AUTOMATIC

My car didn't pass smog for two reasons. One is the gas cap needs to be replaced, also they said that the NO (part of the emissions) were 1440 when the max is 505... what could this be and what kind of repair would be needed.

If its the HC that is very high I would suggest checking it for tune up and check O2 sensors
if the NOX that is high check EGR operation
remove clean and check vacuum lines
