Electrical problem
1995 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 200k + miles

My fan only blows air onto the windscreen and the side windows.
There is no air being blown through the central duct or onto the driver passenger.
I have checked the fuses and they seem okay.

a/c works but still only blow air onto the windscreen

I know the jeep is an old lady but I am fond of her.

The vents that direct the air flow are actuated by vacuum from the engine. If I had to guess, I would say there is a vacuum leak. I would start checking under the dash for one. Also, check along the fire wall under the hood where the vacuum lines go through.

Let me know what you find.

Thanks Joe.

You were spot on. Under the hood was a severed vacuum pipe that lead to the area behind the firewall.

when I touched it , it all came apart in my hand. I hjave replaced it and the fan now works.

Well done.

It is nice to talk to people who know their stuff and don't BS.

Thanks again
