Giggle the transmission gear shift lever would start it?

Transmission problem
1995 Jeep Cherokee V6 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 180000 miles

Previously I could giggle the transmission gear shift lever and the Jeep would start while in park. Not so anymore. Car will not turn over. Battery still good. New starter.

Check your neutral position switch, on the transmission. Does the gearshift pointer point to the right gear? If not you may need to adjust the shift cable.

Yep, the gear shifter safety switch is bad, here is the location so you can change it out. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.
