Engine Mechanical problem
1987 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have an 85 jeep with an 87 engine in it. It starts every time but only runs for 1-2 mins and then dies from lack of fuel pressure. I have replaced the duel pump, filter, pressure regulator, rail, and blown out both the fuel lines. I am at a loss

See my profile.I DO NOT know your vehicle AT ALL. These are SORTA generalized methods to search for the problem.

Look for HOLES/ CRIMPED/ BENT/ PINCHED FUEL LINES. Follow them their full extent.

If your FUEL PUMP is located in FUEL TANK. You either replaced the inlet screen. Or cleaned the old one before you reinstalled it?

IF and ONLY IF your fuel pump is NOT in your tank. Remove your gas cap. Remove from FUEL PUMP the line going to fuel tank. Using air compressor, blow into tank (ONLY) thru this line. Possibly knocking trash off of screen in tank. This may only be a TEMPORARY-GET-BY-FIX. Tank may have to be dropped to resolve this problem. Reattach fuel line to pump/ replace gas cap.

Your problem may not be this at all, I saw your question sat for a while. I know how it feels to be without your baby for an extended periods of time. Just trying to help. Please send POSITIVE RESULTS!

Good Luck. Hope its a pinched line.

Love, Turddog
