When the car is started and put in to gear (D) it hesitates as you press down on the gas pedal. Then the car moves at about 10 miles an hour.(This is pressing the pedal to the floor). After a few minutes at this snails pace. Then it picks up and drives normally. Another thing I am noticing is that when you put it in reverse it s fine. (When you first start the car.) Just going forward is when it does the snail pace thing. Does this sound like the tranny or the throttle control sensor?

Question; when you first start out at the "snails pace" does the motor reve up more than normal. If yes, the low clutch clutch is slipping and the tranny's days are numbered. BUT, I have to say this is not the case. In reverse, the transmission also uses the low clutch and if doesn't slip there it should be ok.I would check the coolant temp and throttle position sensors. Do you get a check engine light? Sounds like it engine temperature related.
