I cannot get the hazard lights to shut off. The switch makes no difference in either position. The only way I can get them to shut off is to unhook the battery.

Have you tested the switch to see if it is shorted?

I have tested the switch, it is OK. I have since found out that the switch is hooked to a small circuit board along with the headlights and if I unplug the whole assembly the hazzard lights will go off. I am looking for the replacement part now but they seem to be a bit pricey. Wish I knew a way to test for sure if replacing the switch circuit board assembly will solve the problem.

The switch board you are talking about is call the
'facia" switch. I had a problem with the same board on my '88. They are available used from some salvage yards around the country. If you have, or have access to, a fax #, I can send you a list of yards who handle Jag parts. Or, you can look on the internet. I got the headlight switch and the VCM panel for $50. You may want to check www. Urgpartssearch. Com/searchframe. Cfm. The board you need is not a normally listed part, but if you ask about an ECM or a blower motor, they will send you a list of yards who have those parts, then you can call or email them about the switch. Hope this helps.
