1991 Jaguar Vanden Plas interior lights

When I open the driver's door, the interior lights do not come on. The lights come on if any of the other 3 doors are opened.

This is caused by a faulty door ajar switch. The door ajar switch should be located either in the door jamb of that specific door, or in the latch itself of that specific door.
