i ptu a fuel pump in it but i hot wired it to a switch because a relay went out now it wont work what are some of the reasons why a new fuel pump would go otu and hwat should i do aside from gettin a new one unless i have to

Direct battery power to it not from the switch and see what happens-don't come on check ground if okay its no good
