Hi,
Lets try to work through this. There is a fuse specific for the flashers (Haz). If it is blown, the brake lights won't work either. Confirm they work.
Next, if the brake lights work and the fuse is good, I need you to check for 12v power at the orange wire at the switch. It should have 12v at all times.
If there is no power to the flasher switch but the brake lights work, there is a splice in the orange wire which should be near the brake light switch under the dash. That splice may be bad and only allowing power to the brake light switch.
Take a look at the pic I attached. Confirm the fuse is good as well as make sure it has power to it even if the fuse looks good. I circled the fuse, the wire at the haz switch, and the splice between the haz and brake light switch. We need to determine where power is lost.
If the switch is still the original one, it may have failed. We will know that when we determine if there is power to it.
As far as the flasher you replaced, it also controls the haz flash, so we know that is good.
Let me know what you find Also, here is a link that explains checking for power at the fuse. I don't know if you need it, but I thought I would add it.
