If the issue happens when the engine is warm, the first thing I think of is a possible faulty crankshaft position sensor. When they start to fail, they are adversely affected by heat. When they cool off, they work again.

Next, I need you to scan the computer to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes that may help. This vehicle has an OBD1 system and doesn't require a scan tool to check for codes. All you need is a short jumper wire or even a paper clip.
