Intermittent no start is the best way to describe this issue. We will get into the car to go and turn the key and nothing. Come back later in the day then it starts. Happens multiple times a month. Has a new battery. I think the other stuff is still OEM. I.E. Ignition, starter, etc. Not sure if this will aid at all but times while driving the security light will come on and then go off, again very intermittently.

Hello,

When you are unable to start the vehicle, does the security light flashes?

When it fails to start, does it make any noise when you turn the key? Any clicks?

It could be triggered by the security system or could be a faulty ignition switch. If it clicks then it could be the starter.

Please let me know.

Thank you.

I think I can hear the fuel pump run for a second or two. No clicks as if battery was low.

I don't think the security light was blinking either.

When you turn the key and there was not noise. Then it is likely an intermittent issue with the ignition switch, the electrical switch that the lock cylinder attaches. Many of these vehicles have issues with the dash mounted ignition switch.
Overtime the connector inside the switch wears off and you will get intermittent no start.

Let me know of any questions.
Thank you.

So you don't think it has anything to do with pass lock?

The pass lock gets its signal from the ignition switch. So yes it could be pass lock, but then again if the switch is not sending the signal to the pass lock it won't start the car. It will typically flash the anti-theft/security light.
