Recently replaced alternator and battery because car would start and stop. Still having issue of car not starting without being jumped because battery was totally drained. Noticed the other day that my interior light was still on even though the car was parked in my drive was. I never adjust the interior light.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com. You have a tough one here. Based on your description, it sounds like you have a short to power. Thus, power is always being sent to the dome light. What you need to do is basically start checking switches and determine where the short is located. First, if you have never used a test light, please watch this video. It will explain what to do and not to do.

Next, here are the directions for testing wiring.

I have attached several wiring schematics of the system for your review. I hope they help. The last pictures are of the fuse block. I was going to recommend removing the fuse in the interim until you located the problem, but from what I see, the same fuse sends power to the PCM which is needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care,
Joe
