2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse 4 cyl 93000 miles

My door ajar light has been persistently coming on, whether I am driving or not. The problem originated with the sensor in my trunk, and whenever it came on I would simply open and close my trunk to turn it off. However, the door ajar light has recently been coming on and staying on no matter how many times I open and shut any of my doors. The door ajar light turns on my interior lights, which in turn runs down my battery.
