I have a 2001 Infiniti i30. The power seat on the driver side recently stopped moving forward. The seat continues to tilt in every other direction. I took the seat out and checked the tracks and the limit switches and both are fine. The motor is getting hot when it is plugged in. Does this mean the motor is burnt out or is there possibly a short in the wiring?

I'd say the motor is burning out. Most electric motors have a thermal overload switch that shuts them down as they overheat.

Mine came off the track in the full back position. I bump it back on whenever I need it closer to the steering wheel (like when my wife drives).
