1997 Other Infiniti Models won't start when it rains

when it rains, my truck has a hard time starting. Water gets under the hood and we have to jump it to make it start. acts like a distributor cap issue, but was told it doesn't have a distributor but rather a coil pack. i'm not finding any info on what exactly that is...any assistance is appreciated.
