Transmission problem
2001 Infiniti I30 6 cyl Automatic 175, 00 miles

Yesterday, after driving about 20 miles at 60-70 mph I stopped. When I started the car again and began to accelerate, it would not go above 20 mph. It acted as if it were in low gear (which it was not). I drove slowly. Around, making a few stops and turns and it self corrected. After stopping for about 30 minutes, I returned home and did not have the problem on the return trip.

I have the same problem with my 2001 Infiniti I30. When that happens (the car won't go above 20mph, although the RPM goes to 3k and beyond), I just turn the car off and on again. Seems like there's an Infiniti bulletin that says this problem is related to the control valve. But I don't know yet

Have you find out anything since you posted your question?

This sounds like the turbine sensor is going out, but we should run the codes to see what comes up.

Here is the location of the sensor just in case you need it. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
