I have the same problem with my 2001 Infiniti I 30. Whenever my car get hot after traveling approximately 25 miles, the car will not shift from 1st gear. I have to pull over, put the car in park, turn off the engine, restart the car, then place it back into drive. My cousin with the exact same Infiniti model is having the exact same problem. Is this a manufacture problem?

Was any trouble codes ever retrieved?

From TSB available, there was no mention of any defects but it does mention about checking the control valve body for erratic shifting.
