2000 Infiniti I30 OIL PRESSURE Switch malfunction

The Oil pressure sign comes on when the car is in gear but not moving ( like on a red light). If the car is in neutral or park, the Oil gauge light goes off, but as soon as it is put in drive or reverse gear, it comes on. When car starts moving it goes off.

Oil level was checked after the car was off for one hour and it was found to be OK.

That's a lot of miles

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge,if normal replace the oil pressure switch. If abnormal could mean oil pump and engine bearings.
