So I know very little about cars. I have this car and my kids lost my only key. Friend of mine picked up a new ignition thinking, new ignition new key no problem. Now apparently the ignition does not match the cars computer and will not start. Anyone know way around this, something to disable. Anything to do, to where I can drive my car?

Hello,

There is no way around this. You will have to have the key programmed to your vehicle's Passive Anti Theft System[PATS] by either a locksmith or the dealership. This is intentionally done to keep thieves from being able to go around stealing cars. Ford's PATS system is one of the finest anti theft vehicle systems out there and is capable of a code with literally billions with a b of different combinations. Bypassing this system is impossible. Even though this isn't what you wanted to hear, I hope that this helps.

Thanks,
Alex
