Low idle and slow acceleration

I took my SUV to AutoZone April, 27 codes set all the cylinders are misfiring. I think it said the engine cranking or positioning sensor.

Low idle, when I press on the gas to take off it sounds like it is running good just slow acceleration. I am wondering if you could be the catalytic converter because when I looked at it looks all reddish tint like it was getting hot. I had a 1995 Explorer that basically ran the same codes and I changed everything on it it ended up being the brain or computer. Is there any way to test that? Thank you for all your patience and advise.

The catalytic converter should not run that hot. I would be checking for leaking injectors as well, and have the catalytic converter checked as it may be collapsed blocking exhaust flow.

On my question before I cleaned the throttle body the throttle body sensor, I noticed that the spark plugs have a lot of a lot of carbon on them. I noticed when I start it now it smells like gas. It is making me think the catalytic converter. Can I get your input on it please? Thank you.

Unburnt fuel from an over rich mixture will re burn in the catalytic converter causing it to overheat and this can make it fail.
