I need help with the wiring for some new speakers

Hello I have a 2006 Kia sorento and I got some pioneer speakers and when I went to switch them with the factory speakers I saw that the car had a wire harness with four wires in it I'm assuming two are negatives and two are positives, two for the tweeter and then the other two for the bass, but what I was wondering was would it be possible for me to cut the harness off, tie the two positives together, crimp them to the wire that came with the speakers to connect them to the speaker and then do the same with the negatives?And I'm sorry if I'm not making much since I'm still a little new to this wiring stuff especially with car audio

I think you can do what you are saying but I would just leave the extra wiring, here is the radio wiring diagrams so show you which wires to use. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes
