Hi,

I went out of town for about 6 weeks and my Hyundai Tiburon sat without being started and when I returned and tried to start it, it would not do anything. It was completely dead. I tried jump starting it and the only thing I had then was the door ajar light and still nothing happened. I went ahead and replaced the battery and then I got the door ajar light and the key-in-the-ignition chime, but still no other accessory lights, clock, or anything else electrical. I have had the car since it was new without any problems until this. I know cars can be finicky after sitting so long, but I don't see why it would just die completely.

Thank You

Make sure the ground wire to the engine block is clean and tight.

Thank You for the reply. I actually found the problem. I found that the 100 amp fusible link had blown somehow. I replaced it and the car started right up. Not sure how it blew just sitting, but it was a relatively easy fix.

Glad you got it going. Corrosion can play tricks on wiring, so maybe sitting gave it the chance to finally go bad. Let us know if you have trouble in the future.
