It died in mid stride. Battery is good, it turns over strongly, I have spark at the plugs, there is good fuel pressure to the injectors. I've looked at all the fuses, the darn thing just won't fire up! Is there something I'm overlooking? A hidden fuse, or something?

I hadn't thought of compression. Another friend said maybe the timing belt. Any way to test for that?

You should do a compression check, and check for air restriction.
