I have a 1988 Hyundai Excel (233,000 Km). Recently the rear left wheel has started locking up while driving, usually after about 15 to 20 minutes. After stopping and hitting the brake couple of times the problem rectifies itself. The car could then go for 5 minutes, or a half an hour before it happens again.

Any ideas?

Thanks

When the last time the rear brakes were changed?

Could be an overextended drum brake self-adjusters or a sticky or frozen emergency brake cable.
