I have noticed for a few days that I have a squeeling noise both when I'm parked and when driving my Elantra. While driving today, my check engine light came on, could this light have anything to do with a bad belt?

Well the squealing could, and to find out about the MIL, go to autozone, they will check the codes free, most of the major parts stores do! Get the codes, then before you start replacing parts, post the codes here, we will have a look!
