i have lost power in first gear and dont what the problem could be can u give some ideas on what may have happened?

You sure the clutch is not slipping-when you let go the clutch and accelerate it doesn't accelerates/increase in speed till you let off the gas and accelerate again this is where it picks up speed if so -clutch problem.
