Hi,
I think my car has problem with burning the oil.I need to re-fill oil often and I have noticed that sometimes the car smell like a burned oil. Can you give me a hint what can be the problem. The problem is more pronounced during the summer when I use the AC. During this time I need to re-fill more often oil.
Thank you very much for answering!

Hi:
It could be a few things. Does the exhaust ever look blue? Also, upen the hood and check for oil leaking around the top of the engine (the valve cover). This is a common problem and a cheap fix. What happens is the oil leaks from the cover, travels along the engine and ends on the exhaust manifold. There, it burns off and smells. When the engine is hot, shut it and quickly look under the hood. You may be able to find the leak by spotting smoke from where the oil is laying.

Let me know what you find.
Joe
