Now it seems like the darn thing sounds like a lawn mower not sure if it had anything to do with belt coming off. I thought maybe a spark plug had exited the cylinder any ideas what is making this 550+ hp beauty sound like a sick lawn mower?

Scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge first auto parts rent it. Then check for a vacuum leak. Finally check intake vacuum if 15" or below at idle then suspect a clogged exhaust system.

It has nothing to do with belt. It is a super charged 450hp. When started sounds like a lifter or something in the valve area ticking on passenger side ticking. And is idling up and down.

When the belt is off does it still make the noise? I'm thinking the supercharger itself may have a problem.

A lot of supercharged motors will idle up and down due to the cam they are running in it plus the addition of the blower throwing more air into it. Did it do this when he bought it? And is the motor stock as far as being a 5.0 or has that been modified as well? Does this have a pop off valve on it? And it may be a lifter making noise.

Oh and if belt is off or loose then that may be the reason due to not getting the air it needs to run right.

Then if you have specs on it try adjusting them and the ticking may go away if you dont' have specs then call cam manufacturer if you know what cam is in it they will know the specs. Also adjust while engine is COLD and better to leave.001" loose than to tight. They will tighten up as engine warms up. The way you listed your initial question was that the blower belt blew off.

There is your problem then. Check for bent pushrods on all of them then. You might look into a rocker shaft see if anything is made for it like from jessel or try summit and jegs. Just for pricing.
