83' Honda Prelude

1983 HONDA PRELUDE

I have a 83 prelude, manual trans, 350,000km

i was driving down the highway in 5th gear and the car just sputtered out I went to give it a little gas and nothing happened all the radio and heater all stayed on lights and everything.I waited about 20 mins tried to start it and it sounded like it wanted to start but wast gettin a spark or gas? I had it towed to my house the next day and it started and drove for about half hour then did it again now it will not start

Sounds like a classic Honda EFI relay problem. It is high in the dash about your left leg. It is black about the size of a cigarette pack and it is labeled EFI relay. It is a dealer only item. I have replaced dozens of them. Good luck as you won't have any problem if you are 4'5" tall and have 40" arms the size of D size battery.

Sounds like a mission to me I baught teh car for $300 should I just go look for a new one?

Thats a good ol' knock around car Come to think about it an 83 may not have an EFI relay. Is it carburated or EFI?

After my car sittin for 2 days I started it up today and it idleed like crap then after about 10 sec a light tap of gas it went normal I drove it up my drive way(pretty long and steep) and parked it in the carport no troubles but it seems when I hit th ehas hard it cuts out a little bit:
