Hi, I just bought a 95 Honda Prelude SI and about 5 hours after I bought it, I hydroplaned and landed in a ditch and about 3 ft of water. The car started up initially after I got it out of the ditch, but after driving it about 300 ft, the engine cut off. The battery light and oil light came on and all it does is go "click, click, click" when I try to start it. I think the battery is just dead but i'm not good with car mechanics so I don't know. Also the interior has about 3 inches of water on the floor and I need help with what you think is wrong with the engine and what I should do with the interior! Please help, I just bought this car and am really screwed as of right now.

Hi matthewc8787,

Situation looks grim.

You would need to dry out the interior first. Disconnect the battery and flip open the passenger side footwell carpet. Remove the ECM and dry it out . Hope it is not damaged yet.

You would need to dry out the vehicle and check for other damages.

Hope the engine has not been damaged by water entry.
