The other day my son took my car and didn't notice that it overheated after the heater hose sprung a leak.
The next day i tried to start it and it would that when i noticed that it was missing water long story short i changed the heater hose refilled the radiator checked for leaks and the car still won't start up. A friend of mine suggested that it might be the distributor cap but i don't want to mess with it just yet. So I would appreciate it if you could help me

Hi needtotalk7,

You would need to test what is missing causing the problem.

1. Ignition spark.
2. Fuel supply.
3. Mechanical.

Here is a link from which it explains how to go about checking.

Hope the overheating has not damaged the head gaskets of which the compression would be low and you would not be able to start the engine.
