The other day I was looking under the hood to check my fluids and saw my engine was a little dirty so I stupidly decided to take a hose and was everything well later that same day I had to go to work and did everything the same way I usually do but when I turned the key my dash lights turned on when I fully turned the key they turned off and the whole car just went dead so I was wondering what that could be.

From the description, either the battery terminals are loose or you have a bad battery.

Check the battery terminals, clean, retighten and retest.
