2001 Honda Odyssey egr

My check engine light came on and need to smog it. The egr valve was the code and i replaced it and still the light.

I have removed the egr wiring and attached it to the old egr (witht the new one in place and it cycles up and down so i belive it is not the egr but something else???
while the car is running and i have some air flow from the exhaust and great suction from the other side????

Help!

What is the code that was retrieved?
What do you mean by exhausr air flow and suction? is the exhaust leaking?

Replacing the EGR valve should not be sufficient. You would have to clear the clogged passage under it as well.
