My van has been regularly serviced as per the maintenance schedule. End of Feb. Engine light on. EGR valve replaced by dealership. Last month, after shifting from reverse to drive, vehicle seems to lurch a bit. Also when I have slowed down somewhat and have to speed up. Today, on the highway was trying to pass someone when all of a sudden I had zero acceleration. The engined revved to the red line and speed was dropping. Managed to pull of highway and then engine wouldn't move foward an inch. Tower was able to move it slightly forward when put in the lowest gear. Dropped off at dealership. Car would not move at all when gas pedal depressed. Could this be connected to the EGR valve repair in February or is this a transmission problem. The car does not have many miles on it and I have taken extremely good care of it. Help. Do not want to be ripped off by the dealership. Need some knowledge as to what is going on. I do not have a picture of my vehicle and it is not at home now.

Hi there,

thank you for the donation,

This will not be related to the EGR repair, this will be a transmission mechanical or electrical failure, passably a torque converter fault.
