Electrical problem
2000 Honda Odyssey Two Wheel Drive Automatic 125K miles

Right now my car is stalling when I start it.

Recently, I brought it in for scheduled maintenance and mentioned that some of the lights on the dash were out. They replaced the bulbs, and the tach was fine. However, I noticed (before I drove off) that the light illuminating the gear letters was out. They also fixed that. It was daytime.

I didn't notice until a week later that the interior lights no longer worked.

This car has a history.

1. The light indicating the front defogger has not been working, or working intermittently.

2. A year or more ago the headlights went out on one side, and they said it was caused by the "cell phone charger." Since I was using a cheap off-brand charger, I thought that the charger itself was the problem, rather than the port FOR the charger/cig. Lighter.

BUT THIS IS THE WEIRD THING.

I noticed that I've had trouble starting the car recently. Thinking maybe the (good brand) phone charger I was now using was at fault, I took it out last night.

This morning, the car was harder to start. BUT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WORKED! Also, the defogger light would go on, stay on for a while, sometimes flicker, sometimes go out.

At first I thought maybe the mechanics had screwed up when they put in the new lightbulbs, but now I'm wondering if the (relatively new) phone charger is causing the problem. Or maybe where it plugs in.

Help! And thanks.

Hi

Sorry if I did not make myself clear.

Probably one of the earth contact under the dash is loose or the contact is not good. Try looseing and retightening some 10mm bolt with earth wires in contact with the body under the dash.
