I have a 1988 CRX HF that is experiencing a loss of power. It happens in any gear. At times it works fine, then it will just start sputtering. It seems worse when I am going up a hill, be it ever so slight of an incline. Then when I reach the top of the hill and start on the down side, I am able to pick up speed. Thought that maybe it was the Catalatic converter being clogged up so I drilled a couple of holes in the pipe before the converter to give it better air flow. That did not help. Read another post on here about a bad Fuel Pressure Regulator TPS. I will probably start with these unless someone has a better idea.

It does seems like a fuel problem and the pressure regulator or fuel pump are both suspects. If you can do a fuel pressure test, that would provide an answer if they are the culprit.

Btw was the ignition timng checked?
