1986 Honda CRX Engine wont stay running

I can turn the engine over after a fairly long turnover time. Then once started it will rev normal for a sec then it will shoot up to 4000 RPM and flutter for a sec or two then it will seems like it chokes out and will stall, but I can feather the throttle and keep it running. It is a carbed engine.

Hello, the first thing that comes to mind is a stuck PCV or EGR valve will cause the condition you have described. Please remove and inspect (the valves should both block air flow) Please let us know what you find. Thanks for using 2Carpros. Com
