Car would not start this morning live in Indiana and have had lots of rain and very cold weather. I tired several times and gave up when I started smelling gas. Left car for a hour or so and tired to restart. Started on about the third try and car sounded fine and was running good. But then when I got out of the car with engine still running I noticed white smoke coming from exhaust. Checked oil level was fine and looked normal. Was worried about smoke turned car off and did search on line to try and find problems. What do you think should I go drive car and see if it goes away or take to have car to be inspected and repaired?

Hi amanda1969,

When the weather is cold and with plenty of rain, white smoke would be normal. It is steam coming from the exhaust and should reduce or goes away when the engine warms up.

This guide will help fix it:
