I have a 1998 Honda Civic Coupe DX (100K miles) and it has 13 inch rims, which I understand are not usual. I need to buy new tires and I am wondering if I should buy a new set to fit on the rims I have now (tire size : 155/80R13) or whether I should buy new rims. I would like to know if it is safe to drive with the size tires and rims I have now.

If those are the original rims on the vehicle and the tires are the recommended type, style, etc. then you can rest assured that it is safe. If the vehicle was lowered by the rims etc, then I would consider putting it back to specs.
