Recently I bought Honda Civic 2005 Value Pack Sedan DX Mileage 18,000, Auto transmission. Today While driving from my workplace to Home, I forgot to release the parking brake and drove my car for 1/2 mile. After coming home I realized that I drove car without releasing parking brake. I checked for any major problems but couldn't found any. I have few question regarding emergency barke.
1) Can any car move if emegency barke is on?Since I can drove the car with or without releasing the emergency brake.
2) In my car whether the emergency barke is working?
3) should I go to Honda Dealer( From where I bought the Car with warranty) or mechanic?

Thanks

Emergency brakes will hold a car but not usually under the power of the engine. The best way to see if you have hurt the emergency brake is to apply it and note the travel distance of the lever. If it does not travel up too far before being snug or it is about what it was before then don't worry about it. If it travels a lot, then the emergency brake is adjusted in the center console probably by removing the cup holder and finding the tightner on the cables.
