2004 Honda Civic back lights

My car has brake and back up lights but does not
have back lights when the head lights are on. I checked all fuses and all are ok. What do I check next befor going to a mechanic.

multiplex.you can't check it yourself without the proper diagnostic tool though.

You may also want to try disconnecting some portable cigarrette lighter adapters when you check into this too -

My fiance's 2001 Sentra goes ballistic and the turn signals stop working when I plug my RAZR phone charger in.

When you say back lights, do you mean the tail lamps (red color), or the back-up lights (white lights) themselves while the headlights are on?
