The headlight switch overheats to the point where the handle is too hot to grab and ultimatlely causes my headlights to not work. (Dangerous at night). The dealer has replaced the switch twice (due to a recall on this very matter) and has troubleshot the circuit and ground with no apparent variances in the amps. The Honda tech line suggest changing the dashboard wire harness for starters with no guarantee that this will fix the problem. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

check head light relays and do a continuity test between switch and relay, do same between relay & head lights, there is a short to earth in the power supply causing the switch to over heat. If this is a known problem, surely they have found the cause by now. I would by pass the dealer and go direct to Honda customer relations with your concerns about the dealer being able to find the problem.
