I have a '95 Honda Civic automatic with a V-Tech engine, has almost 170K miles on it. Since I moved to Colorado 3 years ago I have been having issues with the engine flooding, it has happened four seperate times. Twice in the winter, once in the spring and once in the summer so I am guessing that season has nothing to do with it. Twice I have been able to hold the gas pedal down and finally get the car to start (takes about 2 hours), and twice I have just had it towed and repaired at the shop.
The problem is that all they ever do is change the oil and replace the spark plugs. Is this a typical issue Hondas have or is there something that the mechanic is missing?
Less than 30K miles ago I had the timing belt and distributor and cap.
The fuel pump is working fine, the spark plugs are getting spark, air is getting in. Can you think of anything else to try?
