Engine Cooling problem
1993 Honda Civic Automatic 130000 miles

My car got overheated and I went to a repair shop and they told me that I need to change the radiator. I bought the radiator online and changed it myself but after 2 days the heat indicator started rising again, not as bad as before but still higher than normal so what else could be wrong or what do I need to check. Thanks

Hi mcsqr50,

After replacement of the radiator, did you bleed the system?

When engine is cold, remove the radiator cap and check the level. If it is low, top it up and run engine without closing the radiator cap.

Top up if necessary and if the coolant stabilises, close the radiator cap and retest.

If the reserve tank is depleting, you need to check for coolant leakages.

If the coolant level in reserve tank is full and radiator is low, do the above bleeding and retest. If same symptoms occurs, the head gasket is bad.
