check the fuses

I have an exc honda accord. One day the car wouldn't start so i got a young man to jump it for me. I also cleaned the cables and its been doing fine. Afew weeks later my orange gauge light is on or the engine light. I want to check the fuses but dont know where they are or how to check them can you help?
